Zarrin’s Professional Bio
Zarrin Tasneem is a Registered Provisional Psychologist on the Kids Reconnect team. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization from Yorkville University.
Her training competencies include Internal Family Systems, Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Zarrin is also a Certified Drug, Alcohol, and Addiction Counsellor (UBC-CPD).
With a high level of expertise in handling diverse populations, Zarrin has comprehensive experience in supporting adolescent, parents, families, and individuals with therapy modalities and evidence-based approaches such as trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and collaborative problem solving. Her experience also includes recruiting and planning educational projects for vulnerable children.
As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, Zarrin is experienced at providing counselling, therapeutic intervention, and educational classes for clients with substance use disorders, as well as conducting crisis, mental health, and suicide risk assessments. She is highly skilled at working effectively with a diverse client population, as well in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to provide comprehensive care for clients with complex needs. Her experience also includes developing and facilitating psychoeducational and skill groups for youth.
Zarrin loves restoring connection and family resilience at Kids Reconnect. She is passionate about supporting her child, adolescent, parent, and family clients using creative, systemic, and relational approaches to help them develop their strengths, grow, and thrive.
